Wifi Connection troubles are, in 90% of the cases, due to a too weak antenna on the client side. Laptop built-in or "classical" antennas are made to connect in a house, at a few dozen meters from the antenna, or outside, 200 or 300 meters in pure line of sight, away from other wifi sources. But boats are often anchored far away from land based antennas, and you want to surf from the chart table, surrounded by wifi providers or other boats all having their wifi on !
